Smith - Maude Bartley

Linden, Nov 19 -- Mrs. Maude Bartley (sic) Smith died here this morning at half past 4, aged 27 years after a prolonged illness from tuberculosis. She had been bedfast for the past 3 years excepting for the last year she was able to be up much of the time. She was born in Kentucky but came to Madison Twp when a young girl and had resided in this locality since that time. She is survived by her husband, James Smith, one daughter, miss Mabel; one brother, Jesse Bartley, Union City Ind and two sisters, Mrs. Cratle Bushong and Miss Julia Hartley (sic), both of California. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church at Kirkpatrick. Funeral services will be held in Methodist Church here Sunday morning at 10 and will be in charge of Rev. Servies of Lowell, Ind. The interment will be in Romney Cemetery. - kbz
